My research interest centers around the discovery and validation of disease related protein biomarkers. Total proteomes of human urine and serum, as an example, are analyzed and put through rigorous statistical analysis in order to identify potential biomarkers. Validation is a longer and on going process that relies primarily on ELISA and a new MSD quickplex assay. These studies are performed a collaboration between investigators mainly from Clinical Departments and the protein and nucleic acid facility (PNA).
