Virology

The study of the structure and function of viruses, the interactions between viruses and host cells or tissues, and the diseases viruses cause. Specific topics in this research area include the molecular, genetic, and biochemical analysis of viral morphogenesis, DNA replication, RNA processing, immune evasion, interactions with immune cells, and dissemination.
