Since 1986 I have been involved in the synthesis and application of spin labels and spin traps for EPR studies. A large number of spin labeled fatty acids, phospholipids and labels for proteins including 15N and 2H labeled compounds have been made available. Recently, considerable progress has been made toward the development of nitric oxide traps and nitric oxide donors for use in the study of the biology of nitric oxide. Well versed in multistep syntheses of organic, organometallic and metal chelates for use in EPR and MRI research.
