I am currently a second-year neuroscience graduate student working in the labs of Dr. Jay Neitz (University of Washington-Seattle) and Dr. Edgar DeYoe (Medical College of Wisconsin). The main goal of my current project is to work out the neural circuitry underlying color vision. My secondary interest is in fMRI technology, which provides a powerful tool for tackling this mystery.
Vision is perhaps one of the most fundamental of our senses, making it the greatest tragedy of all when it is lost. An overarching goal that I would like to achieve is to restore vision in people suffering from visual impairments. With advances in technology, there have been great strides made in this field. Someday I would like to add a piece to this intriguing puzzle.
