Dear Participants and Speakers:
Thank you for attending the International Conference on Survival Analysis in Memory of John Klein last week at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. The success of the conference is mainly attributable to your active participation, engagement and support. I am also grateful to IHS (Institute for Health & Society) and CIBMTR (Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplantation Research) for sponsoring the conference alongside our Division of Biostatistics.
In conversations I had with participants during the conference days, there was a feeling expressed that a periodic conference focused on analysis of time-to-event data and related topics would be desirable. While it is premature for me to make any commitment in this regard, it occurs to me that Milwaukee is a pleasant destination mid-summer. And, having enjoyed hosting this conference, my colleagues and I may be open to such a possibility. If you have further thoughts on this, please share them with me by email. I am willing to compile such emails and send a summary to all participants, say mid-August.
Thank you again for making this conference such a success and for remembering John. Have a great summer (winter for our Chilean friends)!
