Event was held Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, 2013

The Bergstrom Automotive Drive for a Cure, organized by Bergstrom Automotive, will be held Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17, at Bergstrom on Victory Lane in Appleton.

Test drive the car of your dreams from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. A special fleet of 100 Bergstrom vehicles including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Volvo, Land Rover, Acura, Audi, MINI, Infiniti, Fiat and more will be available to test drive on a closed, 12-mile course. Bergstrom Drive For A Cure For each mile driven, Bergstrom Automotive will donate $1 to breast cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. No advance registration is necessary. Drivers must be 21 years of age or older.

Complimentary food and refreshments will be available and participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. A raffle will be held and prizes include the use of a brand new convertible for a month, a framed, autographed Clay Matthews Packers jersey, an NFL football autographed by Jordy Nelson, a Marquette Coach Buzz Williams autographed NCAA basketball and more.

Last year, Bergstrom Drive for a Cure raised more than $50,000 for breast cancer research at MCW.

The event is held in memory of Melodie Wilson Oldenburg, a longtime television news anchor and breast cancer advocate who died from breast cancer in 2009 at age 59. Wilson was a co-founder of the MCW Cancer Center Board, and she served on the MCW Board of Trustees with John Bergstrom, Chairman and CEO of Bergstrom Corporation.
