Population Sciences Research Program Seed Grants
Two awards of $25,000 each in 2013
The Population Sciences Program aims to improve cancer outcomes and to reduce disparities in outcomes. The Program seeks to fund seed grant projects which will advance these aims in the areas of access, quality and/or comparative effectiveness, as well as implementation science. Preference will be given to Principal Investigators who do not presently hold NIH funding.
This call for applications is aimed at building intra-programmatic collaborations that would lead to opportunities to secure extramural funding and promote T3-T4 translational research. To be eligible for this funding opportunity, the Principal Investigator must hold an MCW Faculty appointment and be a member of the Population Sciences Research Program.
A Notice of Intent outlining the proposed project should be submitted to the MCW Cancer Center Research Grants Coordinator Michael Anello (firstname.lastname@example.org) by March 4, 2013. Notice should include name of anticipated Principal Investigator and co-investigators, project title, and a 1-2 sentence description.
The full application deadline is April 8, 2013 (deadline to MCW Grants & Contracts is one week prior). Late proposals will not be accepted.
Funding of awards will be made with an intended June 1, 2013 start date.
Mar. 4: To help in planning for peer-review, please send a brief email “Notice of Intent” to the MCW Cancer Center Research Grants Coordinator Michael Anello (email@example.com), no later than March 4, 2013. Include names of the PI, project title, and a 1-2 sentence description. Reviewers will be chosen to best fit the scientific focus of each submission removing any direct conflicts.
Apr. 1: The MCW Grants & Contracts Office (GCO) MUST be given a minimum of five business days to review grant applications before submission. Submit the application to GCO via a “Funding Proposal” in eBridge no later than Monday, April 1, 2013.
Apr. 8: After GCO approval is obtained, submit (a) a single PDF file of the complete application (b) a copy of the GCO approval notice from the eBridge system, and (c) a single PDF file with any supporting material to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 8, 2013. The GCO does NOT submit the application to the Cancer Center; YOU must submit it directly to the Cancer Center AFTER obtaining GCO approval in eBridge.
