Large Center Grant Pilot Funding

RFA Code: LCG-13

Up to $100,000 available for 2013-2014 (FY2014)

Applications are being accepted by the MCW Cancer Center from faculty teams who are working toward future PPG- or SPORE-like applications related to cancer. Large Center Grant Pilot Funds of up to $100,000 are available on a limited basis in 2013-2014.

Applications involving any type of cancer will be accepted; however, there is special interest in applications relevant to breast or prostate cancer research.

Program Project Grants (PPG) support groups of investigators with differing areas of research expertise.  These teams collaborate by pooling their talents and resources and work to achieve results not attainable by independent investigators.

Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) promote collaborative, interdisciplinary translational cancer research involving both basic and clinical/applied scientists and projects.

A Letter of Intent (LOI) is REQUIRED before a full application for a Large Center Grant will be accepted.  The LOI should briefly describe the overall research focus/theme and potential impact on cancer research at MCW and be no more than one page in length.  A tentative list of participating investigators, their titles, departments and institutional affiliations should be provided.  The mandatory LOI must be sent by April 19, 2013. The full, completed application in PDF format must be received by the MCW Cancer Center on or before MAY 24th 2013. Please note that the application must be submitted to eBridge and approved by the MCW Grants & Contracts Office (GCO) one week earlier (by May 17th).  The earliest start date for the proposed project is July 1, 2013.

Direct questions and inquiries via email to: Robert Truitt, PhD, Associate Director of Research Resources (rtruitt@mcw.edu).
