As CHIMC completes the fifth year of operation, the project continues to be guided by the eight principles of Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to implement the P2 Education Intervention. Baseline data has been generated on the residents in the expanded zip codes and study participants who have enrolled in the project that provides a demographic profile of community and study participant characteristics, immunization coverage, immunization knowledge, parent attitudes about childhood immunizations and psychosocial perspectives of self-efficacy, racism and neighborhood cohesion. These data will enable the project to shape the P2 Social Marketing Intervention and develop strategies for the P2 Social Cognitive Theory and Theory of Planned Behavior Interventions in subsequent years.
