Research Area: Mechanisms of learning and memory
Undergraduate research in the field of calcium ion channels introduced me to the world of neuroscience. I chose to continue my studies in this area as a student in the Neuroscience Doctoral Program where I joined the lab of Dr. Nashaat Gerges. My work in the lab focuses on the characterization of proteins involved in learning and memory. Our lab uses techniques ranging from western blots to electrophysiology to behavioral testing as a means of studying mechanisms of learning and memory.
