Research Area: In vivo retinal imaging
As an undergraduate at Marquette University studying physics I became interested in imaging technologies and medical imaging modalities. I was especially attracted to the variety of medical imaging systems that exist. I came to MCW because the variety of imaging research programs here appealed to me, and worked on a number of projects involving MRI brain imaging including functional MRI. After working on a project with Dr. Joseph Carroll on optical imaging of the retina in humans I decided to join the lab and continue working on the new imaging technologies being used to image the retina. My project involves studying retinal disease in both animal models and in humans to learn about changes caused in retinal structure.
