Dr. Schellhase is an Associate Professor and holds joint appointments in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Institute for Health and Society. He is Associate Director of the Center for Healthy Communities and Research in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is also Medical Director of Children’s Community Health Plan, a non-profit Medicaid-only insurance plan covering 45,000 lives, operated by Children’s Hospital and Health System. Dr. Schellhase has been supported by federal and foundation grant funding in a number of areas. His research overall has focused on medical screening issues and both medical and dental care for vulnerable populations. Dr. Schellhase practices clinically at the Waukesha Family Medicine Residency Program which serves a largely low-income population.
