Office of Clinical Informatics Governance and Advisory Participation

Epic Management Team (EMT)
Defines strategies and provides guidance and decision making to ensure that the Epic Project and the Epic Teams continue to make progress toward a successful completion.

EMT Decision Sub-Committee (DSC)
Expedites decision making process and issue resolution on matters escalated by the ECT.

Epic Coordination Team (ECT)
Makes timely decisions and expedites issue resolutions on Epic Implementation Project issues; to ensure clear and frequent communication among all components of the Epic Project.

Epic Executive Council (EEC)
Receives issues escalated from EMT and makes decisions.

Physician’s Advisory Council (PAC)
Advise the Epic Executive Committees on clinical issues surrounding the use, present and future implementation of an electronic medical record. This will be a major change for our organization. It will require changes in our practice. Many of these changes will be welcomed gains in efficiencies and new tools to manage our practice that were not present in the paper chart.

Pharmacy, Nutrition and Therapeutics Committee (PNT)
The goal of the Epic PNT Multidisciplinary Subcommittee will be to ensure that the Epic integrated electronic health record is standardized across the continuum of care, promotes safe medical practice, streamlines current and future clinician workflows, assists in simplifying clinician order entry and documentation practices and maximizes the effectiveness of electronic clinical alerts and decision support, thus improving overall patient care. 

Epic Review Board (ERB)
The Epic Review Board (ERB) has the responsibility to review and approve global and functional changes to the Epic System and Applications. The ERB includes individuals representing each of the Epic application teams.

Legal, Risk Management and Compliance Committee (LRC)
The purpose of the Legal, Risk and Compliance Committee is to provide recommendations and guidance to ensure that the implementation and operation of the Froedtert, Community Memorial Hospital, and Medical College of Wisconsin Medical Informatics record systems:

  • Complies with all federal and state rules and regulations
  • Complies with all institutional policies and procedures
  • Considers institutional and patient risk factors in making system related decisions.
