MCW Office of Clinical Informatics Vision and Mission

 

Vision

The MCW Office of Clinical Informatics will promote the quality, safety and usability of Clinical Informatics Systems and the Medical Informatics environment through strategic leadership and collaboration with operational partners, Froedtert Health Clinical Informatics, and Quality experts.

 

Mission

Execute a strategic plan which is aligned with the four core pillars of the Medical College of Wisconsin: Education, Research, Clinical Care, and Community Service and Outreach.

Education

  • Educate clinicians on the safe and appropriate use of Clinical Informatics Systems
  • Help train the next generation of Informaticists
  • Remain at the forefront of Medical and Clinical Informatics by continually acquiring and improving knowledge, skills, and expertise

Research

  • Collaborate with researchers  and clinicians to
    • find new and innovative ways to utilize Clinical Informatics Systems to improve patient care
    • better understand the impact of Clinical Informatics Systems on patient care and safety

Clinical Care

  • Deliver and manage Clinical Informatics Systems to improve the safe and efficient delivery of patient care
  • Provide business intelligence tools that deliver actionable data for point of care decision support and evidence-based care
  • Enable clinical transformation to assure compliance with local, state, and federal health information technology initiatives

Community Service and Outreach

  • Utilize Clinical Informatics Systems to extend and enhance the delivery of patient care services to patient populations served by the Medical College of Wisconsin
  • Uphold the image and integrity of the Medical College of Wisconsin through professional and courteous interactions with our customers
