CME Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is a private, free-standing medical school with a public mission: excellence in patient care, education, research and community service. Recognizing that the promotion of lifelong learning is an essential component of its mission, the MCW Continuing Medical Education (CME) program is committed to providing the health of our patients by providing quality continuing medical and professional education to meet the needs of physicians, scientists, psychologists, and other health care providers on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus and in the community.
The purpose of the Medical College of Wisconsin's Continuing Medical Education program is to offer activities that will stimulate, maintain, develop, and enhance the study and practice of medicine and research in all specialties of medicine.
Content areas include primary care, specialty and sub-specialty care, patient safety and advocacy, new technologies, research, health care policy, ethics, compliance and efficient practice methods. All content is expected to be based on the best evidence currently available from basic medical science, clinical medicine, or public health fields and to be free of commercial bias. Through the expertise of the faculty, MCW partners with reputable non-accredited organizations to offer specialized CME activities through joint sponsorships.
The target audience form MCW CME includes physicians, psychologists, researchers, and other health professionals from MCW, its affiliate organizations and throughout the nation.
Types of Activities:
Content delivery modalities include live courses, enduring materials, Internet CME, regularly scheduled series, and performance improvement CME.
Expected Results of the Program:
The expected results of the program are to enhance medical knowledge, competence and performance of our learners, thereby enhancing patient care. This is assessed through the PI CME process and the analysis of CME activity evaluation/assessment data.
