Christina L. Runge-Samuelson, PhD Assistant Professor and Co-Director Koss Cochlear Implant Program Department of Otolaryngology & Communication Sciences
Christina Runge-Samuelson joined the Medical college of Wisconsin in January 2002, after receiving her Ph.D. in audiology. Her doctoral work focused primarily on auditory nerve responses to electrical simulation, particularly with different kinds of signals that may be useful in cochlear implant speech processing strategies. Currently Dr. Runge-Samuelson has expanded her research to include projects in genetics of hearing loss, in particular studying children with auditory-neuropathy dys-synchrony.
In addition, Dr. Runge-Samuelson has a clinical background and is a certified audiologist.
She enjoys working with patients and is pleased to be involved in clinical research here at the Medical College in the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences.
Dr. Runge-Samuelson has taught auditory anatomy and physiology to graduate students and residents. She has presented her research at national and international meetings in cochlear implantation and also in otolaryngology.
