As part of the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences, the Center for Communication and Swallowing Disorders is committed to participation in research which advances the understanding and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. Research provides the basis for understanding communication and swallowing processes as well as development of evaluation tools and treatment techniques. A speech-language pathologist's involvement in research is essential in providing the most contemporary and proven rehabilitation techniques to patients.
