Zablocki VA Medical Center

The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center and Clinics, located at 5000 W. National Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides health care to more than 54,000 veterans in eastern and central Wisconsin.

The VA Medical Center has been a major teaching affiliate of the Medical College of Wisconsin since 1946. Physicians who staff the hospital are full-time faculty of the College.

The Medical Center provides 182 acute care hospital beds. Annually, it admits nearly 6,000 patients and records more than 443,000 outpatient visits. It is one of the busiest and most comprehensive centers operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

About $12.45 million in research, funded primarily by the VA and the National Institutes of Health, is conducted by Medical College of Wisconsin faculty at the VA Medical Center.

Primary care is provided at the Milwaukee location, as well as at clinics in Appleton, Union Grove, and in east central Wisconsin at Cleveland, and through a mobile clinic. Primary care services are also provided to Native American veterans who are members of the Oneida Nation via a contract with the Oneida Nation Health Clinic.

Secondary and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care is provided at the Milwaukee facility.
