MCW Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences Headlights Winter 2023 - New Temporal Bone Lab to Open in May 2023

The Division of Otology and Neuro-Otologic Skull Base Surgery is in the process of relocating and upgrading a temporal bone dissection lab. Temporal bone surgical skills are an integral part of residency training, and these skills are first learned and refined throughout training in a temporal bone lab.

Our current lab, located within the Simulation Center in Froedtert Hospital, will be relocated to a larger, private space (M2350), within the Form & Function Lab of the Medical Education Building (MEB). This state-of-the art space will be equipped with 14 workstations, each featuring an operating microscope and wall-mounted observation monitor that can switch from microscope to endoscope input. Adjacent to the lab, a large conference room will facilitate didactics and larger group events. The new lab is projected to be complete and ready for use in May 2023.
