Eric Knudson, MD

Biography

Dr. Erik Knudson earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1998. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in 2002 and fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in 2003. Dr. Knudson is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) in the fields of Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.

Dr. Knudson’s work experience has primarily involved inpatient psychiatric treatment of maximum security forensic patients at Wisconsin’s state psychiatric hospital, Mendota Mental Health Institute, where he currently acts as the Associate Medical Director. Dr. Knudson has also consulted to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and maintained a private forensic psychiatric practice based out of Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Knudson’s academic interests include forensic psychiatric evaluation, management of violent behavior, and treatment of psychotic disorders.
