Welcome to the Department of Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  The department has been part of the Medical College of Wisconsin since 1946 and grew to full departmental status in 1988.  The Department's activities include nationally recognized clinical, educational, and research programs.

 

Mission

The mission of the Department of Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin is to combine the highest level of compassionate care for patients with skin diseases in the context of training suberb resident clinicians and expanding the scientific basis for dermatology through state-of-the-art basic and clinical research in skin biopsy and cutaneous diseases.

Clinical Programs
The Department of Dermatology offers a broad range of clinical services in the diagnosis and management of skin diseases. Clinical services include adult and pediatric dermatology, phototherapy, dermatological surgery, dermatopathology, laser procedures, and immunodermatology. 

Education
Residents and medical students gain a broad-based education in dermatology.  Residency training includes diagnosis and treatment of skin and systemic diseases, skin surgery, procedural dermatology, and the value of dermatology in patient care.

Research
Clinical, translational, and basic research has a strong presence in the Department of Dermatology.  The primary concerns include autoimmunity, molecular biology, and cell biology.  There are also ongoing clinical studies in adult and pediatric dermatology.
