Dr. Li graduated from Medical School at Tongji Medical University, Wuhan, China in 1984. He obtained a Ph.D. in Pathology from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, in 1998, and completed his residency in combined AP/CP at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester School of Medicine in 2003. This was followed by a year of fellowship in Surgical Pathology at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York, NY in 2004. Dr. Li joined MCW Pathology Department as an Assistant Professor in 2004.
Dr. Li's clinical interests include general surgical pathology with special interests in genitourinary and Oncologic pathology. Dr. Li’s long term research goal is to elucidate molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis and identify potential molecular marker for better treatment and/or prevention of these tumors. His current research is focused on the roles of SmgGDS in different malignant tumors.
