Medical Ethics Committee Network (MECN)

The Medical Ethics Committee Network (MECN) was established as the Wisconsin Ethics Committee Network by the Center for the Study of Bioethics at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1987 in response to requests from hospital and nursing home ethics committee members and others concerned with the ethical delivery of health care.  MECN focuses on facilitating the functioning of institutional and organizational ethics committess throughout the state, region, nation, and world.

MECN is a membership organization.  The MECN membership includes hospitals, nursing homes, hospices, homecare organizations, government, and private agencies, as well as individual attorneys, business leaders, physicians, and other health care professionals.

MECN helps its members to meet the many bioethics challenges in health care delivery through a variety of resources and services.
