 Dialysis

Dialysis is a treatment that is used to help your kidneys clean the toxins from your body. It is needed when your own kidneys are unable to cleanse the body due to disease or injury. Usually this occurs when the kidneys lose 85 to 90 percent of their function. This is called end stage renal failure.

Not all kidney failure is permanent. In some cases, accute kidney failure will require short term use of dialysis until the kidneys heal.
