The Blumenthal Lab
This lab has a special interest in diabetic nephropathy proteinuric renal disease, hypertension and dialysis. He is the key investigator for various clinical trials, focusing on newer medications to slow progression of renal disease, control of hypertension and treat other complications of chronic renal failure. He also supports a basic science laboratory looking at the sodium-glucose cotransporter and its role in diabetic renal disease. He provides medical care for large number of hemodialysis patients and is also the director of the dialysis program at MCW.
