The Medical Scientist Training Program Annual Retreat was held November 2 - 3, 2007 at the Blue Harbor Resort and Conference Center, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in beautiful Sheboygan, Wisconsin. This retreat is a time for our students to come together with selected faculty to interact, learn, and have fun in a relaxed environment. Howard Jacobs, PhD, Professor in Human and Molecular Genetics, Physiology, and Director of the Human and Molecular Genetics Core at the Medical College of Wisconsin, was our featured speaker on Friday evening. Beth Drolet, MD, Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, was our featured speaker on Saturday. Another session on Saturday focused on residency and career choices with a panel of speakers including alumni from the program as well as other MD, PhD residents at the Medical College of Wisconsin. There was also ample time set aside for fun and relaxation. Students and faculty had a great time interacting both on academic and personal levels. We can't wait to do it again next year!
