    Cochlear Implant Meetings

    Candidate's Meeting

We hold bi-annual candidate's meetings, in the spring and fall, for persons who are interested in learning more about cochlear implants for themselves or a family member. The meeting covers a wide range of topics for both adult and pediatric patients including candidacy, the surgical process, and the external equipment. Additionally, there is a panel of cochlear implant patients ranging from children and their parents to elderly adults who share their personal experience. This provides an opportunity for potential cochlear implant candidates to ask questions of other cochlear implant users as well as ask the Koss Cochlear Implant Program staff questions. Professionals are welcome to attend as well.

    Support Group Meeting

We hold 3 support group meetings per year for our adult and pediatric patients, their families, and anyone who is considering cochlear implantation. Each meeting of the year covers a different topic and often includes a guest speaker. These meeting provide a great opportunity for patients and their families to learn about their cochlear implant as well as time for discussion among cochlear implant recipients and their families.

    Annual Cochlear Implant Picnic

Each summer we host the annual cochlear implant picnic at a park in the Milwaukee area.  This is a great time in which patients with cochlear implants and their families can meet and get to know each other.  It's also a chance for patients to see the staff outside of the clinic setting.
