Tasha Jenkins

Tasha Jenkins, Executive Director of Fighting Back, Inc., has focused her career on serving as an advocate for children and children's health issues. Since 1997, she has been responsible for the overall operations of Fighting Back, Inc., a non-profit organization addressing substance abuse prevention for Milwaukee youth.

In her leadership role at Fighting Back, she coordinates Milwaukee County's substance abuse prevention plan. Building on a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant she administered, Jenkins has established and strengthened collaborative partnerships with community organizations and other entities throughout the Milwaukee area focused on the prevention of drug and alcohol abuse.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Jenkins currently serves on the Board of Directors of United Cerebral Palsy. The Milwaukee native has also served on the Board of Directors of Journey House, a United Way agency providing counseling and support to at-risk youth, and the Board of Commissioners of Milwaukee's Social Development Commission.

Prior to her appointment at Fighting Back, Jenkins was a planning specialist for the Social Development Commission, and held positions with the American Heart Association and the Children's Outing Association.

She is a volunteer with the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Telethon, a tutor at the Boys & Girls Club, and has conducted workshops with teens on survival skills, career choices and self-improvement.
