Beginning with the 2006-2007 academic year, the Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Pediatrics has implemented a new Joint Fellowship Curriculum. This core curriculum is designed to address both the academic requirements mandated by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the career and personal development goals expressed by our fellows.
Our goal is to provide an excellent educational experience to all fellows in the Department of Pediatrics through case-based, hands-on curriculum modules based on the needs of each year of fellowship (F-1, F-2 and F-3).
What follows is the result of surveying fellows and fellowship directors and subsequent brainstorming sessions and planning meetings, and encompasses the ACGME's six core competencies as well as the areas of teaching, research, administration and leadership, and career counseling (including work/life balance).
