New Employee Orientation is a four-part meeting series intended for new MCW employees whose job responsibilities include any aspect of human research.
The first meeting, lasting 1.5 hours, includes an Introduction to the Office of Research, Human Research educational requirements and opportunities, and a broad overview of federal and institutional regulations, with an emphasis on the role of institutional review boards in human subject research. New employees typically attend the initial orientation on their Monday orientation day. Individuals are identified by their job title or by their department. New Employees may also self identify. The remaining three meetings (modules A, B, C), are held quarterly on a rotating monthly basis, are 1.5 hour brown bag lunch sessions covering "IRB Processes", "Quality Assurance & Audit", and "Coordinator Mentoring". Sessions typically have 6 – 12 individuals, allowing time for questions, interaction, and networking.

Purpose: This interactive session focuses on the IRB submission process and the use of eBridge for human study submissions.
Agenda: Discuss the IRB submission process, common misconceptions, content of forms for submission, reportable events, and insight into the protocol review process by the committee. It focuses on eBridge- electronic human studies submission process to the MCW/FH Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). eBridge - Human Research Training is a suggested pre-requisite.

Purpose: This educational session focuses on elements that assure quality and compliance in the conduct of human research.
Agenda: Roxanne Pritchard will discuss various aspects of her role which include quality assurance, improvement, compliance and audit in the human research arena. This is a small group session that has time for questions, interaction, and networking.
