Dr. Duthie joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1980 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine after completing a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at the Jewish Institute for Geriatric Care at the State University of New York. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and received his Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine in 1988.

Edith Burns, MD

Associate Professor Medicine
Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology
Medical College of Wisconsin

Dr. Burns joined the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin in September of 1998. She is associate professor of medicine at MCW and Director of Ambulatory Geriatrics at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee. Dr. Burns is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Medical School where she completed her medicine residency as well.

Dr. Burns completed her fellowship training in Geriatrics and Immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Additionally, she completed fellowship training in Behavioral Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Burns' research interests include immunology and aging. She is currently the Co-PI on an NIH funded project entitled, "Causes of Lean Body Mass Loss in Aging Men and Women."

Dr. Burns is the Program Director for the Medicine-Geriatrics Combined Residency Program in partnership with the Reynolds Foundation Initiatives in Geriatrics Education.


Mary Cohan, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine
Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology
Medical Director Clement Manor, Inc.

Dr. Cohan first joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in1984 where she completed her residency training in Internal Medicine. She completed her fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at the University of Michigan and was recruited back to the Medical College of Wisconsin in the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in July of 1989. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and received her Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine in 1992. She became a certified medical director for long term care facilities in 1994 and is on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Association of Medical Directors.

Kathryn Denson, MD
Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Denson is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine. She first joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1996 where she completed
her residency training in internal medicine. She completed her geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Washington and rejoined the Medical
College of Wisconsin as an assistant professor of medicine in August 2002. She is board certified in internal medicine and received her Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine in 2001. Her areas of interest include home and community care and palliative care.

 
  Diana Kerwin, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Dr. Kerwin joined the faculty in 2002 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine. She completed a Chief Residency as the John A. Hartford Chief Resident for Geriatric programs and fellowship training in Geriatrics and Gerontology at Feinberg School of Medicine (formerly Northwestern University Medical School). She is board certified in Internal Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine and Clinic Director of the Geriatric Memory Disorders Clinic at Froedtert Hospital

Kaup Shetty, MD

Dr. Shetty joined the faculty in the Division of Geriatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1988. He has been on the faculty at MCW since 1970. Dr. Shetty completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the Zablocki VA Medical Center and MCW. Dr. Shetty completed his fellowship training in Endocrinology at MCW and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology/Metabolism, and Geriatric Medicine. His research interests include metabolic bone disease, post polio syndrome and hormonal changes with aging.
