Medical College of Wisconsin's Translational and Biomedical Research Center and the Children's Research Institute The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and Children's Research Institute (CRI) will open a new 300,000 GSF joint research facility in early 2007 to meet the growing space demands of the College's research programs and to create space and a landmark symbol for the new Children's Research Institute. By sharing resources, both the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital and Health System are able to leverage their assets while enhancing opportunity for investigator collaborations.
Blood Research Institute The Blood Research Institute (BRI) will expand its campus facility by 35,000 GSF in early 2007 to accommodate the organization's growing research programs. The BRI is connected to the new MCW/CRI Biomedical Research facility through an underground tunnel. Interactions among BRI investigators and MCW/CRI colleagues contribute to a vibrant campus-wide network of scientific discovery and patient care.
Froedtert Cancer Pavilion The new Froedtert Cancer Pavilion is scheduled to open in the spring of 2008. This new facility will provide 280,000 GSF on four floors to support the multidisciplinary delivery of treatment for all types of cancer. The Pavilion will include clinics, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, clinical research, and support services such as dietary, social services, and an education center.
Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Expansion Started in June of 2006, the 12-story, 425,000 GSF expansion is attached to the main hospital facility. The project will create a new front door for Children's Hospital while providing expanded bed capacity, additional intensive care units and specialized clinics. Completion is anticipated in spring of 2009.
