Alumni Association Programs

The Alumni Association sponsors programs throughout the year that offer social and professional development opportunities.  A variety of programs for students provide valuable experiences for those currently in medical school, graduate school and residency, as well as chances for alumni to interact with and support the next generation of physicians and scientists.

 Alumni Weekend

Alumni Weekend is held on the first weekend in May each year. Alumni Weekend features class reunions for the 10-, 15-, 20-, 25-, 30-, 35-, 40-, and 45-year classes. The 50-year class has their reunion on Commencement weekend.

The weekend features a Friday evening reception, banquet and program at the Pfister Hotel, which also serves as our headquarters hotel. Saturday morning is on-campus and features a Continental breakfast, CME program hosted by the Dean, luncheon hosted by the President, followed by campus tours. During the CME program, spouses are offered the opportunity to tour the Milwaukee Art Museum. Saturday evening, the various reunion classes hold private class dinners. The 25-year class is hosted by the President.

 Clinical Conference

The clinical conference has a 40-year history and provides alumni and other physicians an opportunity to earn CME credits in a setting that also provides recreational opportunities.

 Alumni Dinners

Alumni dinner meetings are held in Wisconsin and various locations around the country. This is an opportunity for alumni who may not have the opportunity to get back to campus to learn about the many exciting developments on-campus and also a chance to meet other alumni from their area.

 Specialty Receptions

The Alumni Association and College host receptions for alumni at a variety of national meetings each year. This is an opportunity for alumni from a specific specialty to meet others from their specialty, see friends, and have a chance to talk with College faculty.

 Symposium for Senior Physicians

This one-day, four-CME program for retired and semi-retired alumni and other area physicians is held each year at the end of May and mid-October. It features presentations from five faculty members and includes a Continental breakfast and lunch.

Bob Herzog Alumni Scholarship Golf Classic

This outing provides alumni who enjoy golf the opportunity to join other alumni for a day of golf, fun, food, MCW spirit, and to help fund scholarships for medical students at the College. In its first ten years, $150,000 has been raised to fund 90 scholarships.

 50-Year Reunion at Commencement

Each year at commencement, the 50-year class is invited back to campus for their special Golden Anniversary Reunion. The weekend begins with a special VIP reception on Friday evening before the commencement ceremony. Following the reception, the class puts on their caps and gowns for a class photo and family photos. At the commencement ceremony, the class sits in the front row and is recognized. Saturday features a brunch and a special farewell dinner at the College. The President presents each member with a new diploma and Golden Circle certificate commemorating their 50 years in medicine.
