Program highlights

  • Seven of the thirteen (53 percent) Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant physicians are listed in the 2004 Best Doctors in American database. Nationally, less then 4 percent of all physicians are listed.
  • The Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin serves as a national resource for pediatric bone marrow transplantation. Since its inception in 1980, we have performed more than 600 bone marrow transplants for children, making us one of the largest and most experienced pediatric BMT programs in the U.S. We are also one of the largest pediatric transplant programs in the U.S. utilizing unrelated individuals or mismatched family members as donors.
  • The Division offers a more complete range of quality programs for specialized patient populations than almost any other pediatric hematology/oncology service in the United States.
