The National Biomedical EPR Center Training Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin was established in order to provide outside users with training in many areas of EPR spectroscopy. (See description of available equipment) We are happy to assist in sample preparation, in gaining experience running any of our spectrometers, and in data analysis. Past visitors to the Center have used the opportunity to train on a new machine, gain experience in sample preparation, and to learn about spectral simulation programs. Training in EPR technology development is also available. Visitors are encouraged from any level of EPR knowledge.
Stipends in the amount of $500 are given out to first-time visitors to help defray the cost of travel to the Center.
If you are interested in visiting the Center as a Trainee, please contact Dr. Candice Klug.
A new advanced training program is now being offered to experienced users who would like to come to the center for one to three months. Stipends will be offered to cover travel and housing. During this time, the trainee will have one-on-one time with a professor and the Center engineering staff, along with dedicated instrumentation time on the instrument or technique of interest to the advanced trainee. Please contact Dr. Candice Klug
If you do not qualify for the Training Program or are interested in visiting the center as a user only, contact Dr. Brian Bennett.
Workshops have been developed mainly for students and postdocs who have no EPR experience, but would like to use EPR spectroscopy in their own research. Successful workshops have been held in 2004 and 2006. Another one is being planned, but no date has been set. Information will be posted when it is available.
