Pediatric Rheumatology Clinic
While in the Clinic portion of the Fellowship, fellows will be located within the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Rheumatology Clinic.  Here, approximately 2500 children each year seek care for their rheumatologic ailments.  The rheumatology section consists of a support staff of a research nurse specialist, two administrative assistants, a certified nurse practitioner, and a clinical nurse.

During the research portion of the Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship, fellows will have the opportunity to use the well-supported laboratory in the MACC Fund Research Building.  This 2500 square foot space contains:

Lab

  • Spectrophotometry
  • Becton Dickenson FACSCaliber
  • Radioisotope labeling and counting
  • Gel electrophoresis and gel documentation equipment
  • Four laser BD LSR II for multi-parametric fluorescent analysis of cell surface markers, intracellular proteins, and serum cytokines

The library in the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and Medical College of Wisconsin
These two libraries contain a large volume of textbooks and medical periodicals available for your use.  You will also be granted access to the Medical College's computerized database.

Fellows will have a permanent office space in the Children's Corporate Center to use during their three year stay with the Medical College of Wisconsin.  All of the pediatric physicians and administrative staff are housed in the Corporate Center.  Once a week, faculty and staff meet for staffing to discuss patient schedules, Journal Club, and receive updates on clinical research.

Inside the Children's Corporate Center, fellow office space is provided to all our fellows during their three year stay at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
