MCW Libraries Resource of the Month

Some of the programs include:

• DynaMed, which provides clinical summaries of 1,800 topics
• Essential Evidence Plus, which provides evidence-based information such as InfoPoems, Cochrane abstracts, practice guidelines and clinical calculators
• Epocrates Rx, which provides drug information and tools
• Shots 2008, which provides 2008 childhood and adult immunization schedules from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Academy of Physicians (AAFP)
• Thompson Clinical Xpert (Micromedex), which provides information on drugs, acute care, toxicology, drug interactions, alternative medicine, diagnosis tools, FDA approvals and warnings, and the Froedtert Hospital Formulary
• USDA Nutrition Database, which calculates calories, carbohydrates, protein and fat, cholesterol, sodium and vitamins for more than 6,000 food items 

Most programs can be downloaded to both the Palm and PocketPC. Stop by the Todd Wehr Library Circulation Desk, where Library staff will download the programs for you. (This service is available for the Palm TX only).
