Medical College rated best in Wisconsin by Charity Navigator

May 9, 2008 College News - Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities, scored the Medical College of Wisconsin the highest among all other Wisconsin charities that the organization rated. This also represents the sixth consecutive year that the Medical College received a four-star rating from New Jersey-based Charity Navigator.

According to Charity Navigator, receiving four out of four stars indicates that the College “excels, as compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing its finances in an efficient and effective manner.” The organization also notes that the consistency in receiving this rating for six years in a row “is an exceptional feat, especially given the economic challenges many charities have had to face in the last year.”

In determining its ratings, Charity Navigator examines two broad areas of a charity’s financial health – how responsibly it functions day to day as well as how well-positioned it is to sustain its programs over time. It provides the ratings so donors can evaluate where their contributions will be most effective.

The Medical College’s overall score of 69.20 was the highest out of the 75 charities in the state rated by Charity Navigator.
