 Information for laboratory workers using radioactive material:

 What is the Radiation Safety Class about?
The Radiation Safety Class teaches the basics of working with radioisotopes in research laboratories, including the following topics: ? Basics of radioactivity ? Health effects of ionizing radiation ? Radiation protection techniques ? Licensing and regulations ? Laboratory policies and procedures
 Who should attend?
Any new personnel working directly with radioactive material should attend the Radiation Safety Class. Students, post-docs, lab technicians, etc. must have documented training in radiation safety.
 How can I sign up?
You do not need to sign up in advance of the class, just show up at the appointed time and place.
 What if I missed the class?
By special appointment, the Office of Radiation Safety will offer the class on an as-needed basis. Please contact Marc Martz or Kimberly Knight-Wiegert to arrange for a special session.
