PHYSICAL MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION FELLOWSHIPS

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Zablocki VA Medical Center are proud to offer fellowships for 2008 in the following areas: 

1) Electrodiagnostic Medicine.  One position is available, for one year in duration, providing excellent training in neuromuscular evaluation.
 
2) Pain Management. This ACGME-accredited one-year program in collaboration with Anesthesia trains physiatrists in the management of complex pain syndromes.

3) Spinal Cord Injury Medicine.  A one-year ACGME-accredited and a two-year advanced research fellowship are available at the VA Spinal Cord Injury Center. 

4) Rehabilitation Research Training.  Both one and two-year positions focused on motion analysis, telemedicine, accessible medical instrumentation and spasticity assessment with novel didactic training in rehabilitation research are available through collaboration with Marquette University. 

5) Spasticity Management.  This one-year program teaches advanced techniques for spasticity and dystonia management including neurolytic procedures and intrathecal pump management.  Program includes additional training in clinical and dynamic EMG and involvement in the motion analysis lab.

6) Sports Medicine.  This one-year or two-year fellowship in collaboration with Orthopedics and Primary Care provides a comprehensive experience in management of sports and musculoskeletal injuries.  Additional training in EMG and spinal injections is optional.

7) Pediatric Physiatry.  This one-year or two-year fellowship ACGME accredited position, based out of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, provides comprehensive training in the management of children with disabling disorders, impairments and disabilities.
