11th Annual Liver Disease Update

The Medical College of Wisconsin's 11th Annual Liver Disease Update will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Wyndham Hotel, 4747 S. Howell Avenue.  The event is sponsored by the Department of Medicine's Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.

The event is intended for gastroenterologists, primary physicians, internists and family physicians, as well as physicians assistants and nurses. Upon completion of the course, participants should:

  • Be able to recognize common liver problems encountered in general practice.
  • Become familiar with the standard of care in patients with liver disease.
  • Be able to recognize advanced liver disease and when consultation with a hepatologist should be considered.

Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 7:00am, welcoming remarks are at 8:00am and the course runs until 4:00pm.  Participants will receive breakfast, lunch, course materials and CME credits.

Jose Franco, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology & Hepatology) and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation is the course director.

The cost is $100 for physicians and $50 for residents, fellows, physician assistants, nurses and medical assistants.
