Choosing a Career in Academic Gastroenterology & Hepatology

Pfister Hotel
September 26-28, 2008

In an effort to increase interest in academic gastroenterology, we have planned another one and a half day conference for GI fellows and Internal Medicine residents who may be interested in an academic career. Program Directors from across the country recommend their top choice among their residents and fellows who would potentially be interested in participating in this program.

The objectives of the program are to:

  • Identify potential candidates suitable for a career in academic gastroenterology.
  • Promote and enhance enthusiasm about academic gastroenterology as a career.
  • Familiarize these potential candidates with the responsibility and privileges of joining the rank of educators of the next generation of GI specialists.
  • Provide these candidates with a network of colleagues for future interactions, exchange of information and ideas, and instill a sense of pride and purpose in becoming an academic gastroenterologist.
  • Provide the opportunity to experience face-to-face interactions with some of the current leaders in the field and learn about their inspiring academic life.
  • Provide some basic academic skills.

All travel expenses, lodging, meals and educational material will be covered through an educational grant.

If you have any questions regarding the nomination process, please contact (414) 456-6766.
