Condoleezza Rice Former Secretary of State
To Keynote Medical College of Wisconsin’s Healthcare Dinner, Nov. 10

Sept 10 - Condoleezza Rice, PhD, secretary of state from 2005 – 2009 will be the keynote speaker for the Medical College of Wisconsin's Healthcare 2009 dinner, Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Pfister Hotel. Individual tickets and sponsored tables are now on sale to hear her speak on A Look at Foreign Affairs. The event is hosted by the Medical College's Digestive Disease Center Advisory Board --community leaders who raise awareness of digestive disease and funds for research.

Event co-chairs are Joyce Myers and David Raysich. Registration and a reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., and the program at 8 p.m.

Widely considered to be one of the most influential and powerful people in the world, Dr. Rice will share her unparalleled experience and provide a sweeping look at global affairs during her tenure and illuminate the interrelationship of global events and leaders. As secretary of state and national security advisor, Dr. Rice pioneered a policy of transformational diplomacy and heralded the formation of new global governments based on democratic principles. Rice has served as secretary of state during a time of unprecedented and tumultuous world affairs.

The event will also include presentation of the Warren P. Knowles Humanitarian Award to Ted and Mary Kellner, both highly respected community leaders. The award honors an individual or organization from Wisconsin with a commitment to health-related issues and whose work reflects the dedication to public service and education marking the career of Governor Warren P. Knowles. The Kellners’ long record of public service makes them outstanding and inspirational candidates for this honor.

Supporting sponsors can purchase two tables, seating 20 guests, for $10,000 and include private photo with Dr. Rice. Sponsor tables for 10 guests, are $5,000. All table purchases include dinner and the general reception for guests. Individual tickets are $300 each and include dinner and an invitation to the general reception.

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Digestive Disease Center is an internationally known group of more than 60 faculty physicians and scientists representing many specialties. Their unique collaboration provides a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, research and education in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all forms of digestive disease. The center has nationally recognized programs in swallowing disorders, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreaticobilliary disease, hepatitis, liver transplantation and gastrointestinal cancer surveillance.
