Linda Burg, Aud, CCC-A

Program Manager, Koss Cochlear Implant Program
Department of Otolaryngology & Communication Sciences

Dr. Burg's area of expertise is working with individuals who have significant hearing loss and who are interested in receiving a cochlear implant. She believes that the key to success with a cochlear implant is for the individual to be provided with the knowledge to make an informed decision and for herself to be available for support when needed. To aid in this goal, Dr. Burg, along with a group of implant recipients, started the Koss Cochlear Implant Adult Support Group.

Dr. Burg worked at the Medical College of Wisconsin from 1986-2000, focusing on diagnostic audiology, hearing aids, and cochlear implants. From 2000-2002, she was the Senior Audiologist at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She returned to the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Koss Cochlear Implant Program in January of 2002 to continue her work with cochlear implant candidates and recipients. Since 1999, Dr. Burg has participated in the FDA clinical trials for the cochlear implant devices available in the United States, including the Advanced Bionics, Med El, and Cochlear Americas devices. Dr. Burg has also been significantly involved in the state professional organization, holding the elected offices of Audiology Representative for two terms, VP-Governmental Affairs, and VP-Education. She has co-chaired numerous conventions and in 1999 received the "WSHA Salutes Outstanding Service Award." Dr. Burg received her clinical doctorate degree in Audiology (AuD) from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in May, 2002.
