Biography


Dr. Friedland is a board-certified otolaryngologist head and neck surgeon with board-certified fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University in adult and pediatric otology, neurotology and cranial base surgery. He has specialized training in surgery for hearing restoration including placement of cochlear implants and bone-anchored hearing aids. He also has expertise in skull base tumors, both surgical and Gamma Knife treatments. Dr. Friedland's clinical interests focus primarily on cochlear implantation, chronic ear disease, and cholesteatoma. In addition to his clinical activities at the Medical College of Wisconsin, he leads a research program studying outcomes in ear, nose and throat disorders.

Dr. Friedland's practice style reflects the team approach to providing you with the best care. Working closely with dedicated Nurse Practitioners, Audiologists, and support staff, a full assessment of the patient's problem is performed through careful listening and specializing testing. Dr. Friedland believes education is a major key to treatment and will patiently explain the diagnosis and therapy in everyday terms using models and diagrams for clarity.
