Summary: The SASS is an integrated set of surveys designed to facilitate comparisons between public and private schools. It consists of the Teacher Demand and Shortage Survey, the School Administrator Survey, the School Survey, and the Teacher Survey. The SASS includes data items on enrollment, number of teachers and librarians, hiring and retirement policies, high school graduation requirements, school principal characteristics, teacher characteristics, student characteristics, programs offered, length of school year, and graduation and college application rates.
