Research Interests

My research interests are heavily based in microbiology, specifically looking at microbial interactions and how bacteria impact human health. My previous research experience includes organic chemistry research on synthesizing small organic molecules with terminal alkynes for regioselective deuteration. I then started microbiology research on several antibiotic resistant pathogens investigating 1) how long-term exposure to probiotic cell free extracts modifies antibiotic sensitivity and virulence in Staphylococcus aureus, 2) surveying pathogens in biofilms from the built environment and 3) understanding the microbial interaction between Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa under disinfectant treatment.
