Residents have unique opportunities to care for severely injured and critically ill patients through the EMS curriculum which includes ambulance ride-alongs, flight training with Flight For Life (FFL), and paramedic radio control.
Second year residents also provide medical control for all acute care resuscitations in Milwaukee County over the radio. This experience provides an excellent basis for developing the skills necessary to be an EMS Director.
We also offer an EMS fellowship to prepare physicians for a career of leadership in out-of-hospital care. We are accredited through SAEM and have trained nine previous fellows.
