Interviewing for Residency

Thank you for your interest in the Medical College of Wisconsin Emergency Medicine Residency Program.  Applications are accepted exclusively via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We review all applications that are received prior to our deadline of December 1. We do not accept applications through email or the USPS.  Each year we recruit for nine categorical Emergency Medicine residents.

Your application must include:

  • A complete ERAS application
  • CV
  • Personal Statement
  • Photograph
  • Minimum of two letters of recommendation
  • USMLE Step 1 score
  • Transcripts
  • Dean’s letter

Interview Dates for the 2014-2015 Academic Year are scheduled for the following Fridays:

October 18 and 25
November 1, 8, 15 and 22
December 6, 13 and 20

Interviews begin with a pre-event hosted by the EM residents on the prior Thursday at a premier location in downtown Milwaukee.  Applicants are encouraged to attend.  Spouses and/or significant others are welcome.

If applicants are traveling with a significant other, they are invited to attend our “Significant other Tour and Lunch” held in sync with your interview as well as the pre-event on Thursday evening.  A significant other of a current EM resident hosts a “tour of Milwaukee” beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a casual lunch at 11:30 a.m.  We understand the impact your residency selection decision has on your significant others and we involve them as much as possible.
