Message from the Chair of the Faculty IT Committee

The Faculty Information Technology Committee is a subcommittee of the MCW Faculty Council that was approved by the Board of Trustees in 2007.  The committee fulfills three primary functions:

1. Review of IT-related policies and ideas.  We have put in place a system for rapid, informal review of IT-related policies and ideas.  We have also put into place a process for the committee to make formal recommendations which are passed on to the Faculty Council, the Executive Committee of the Faculty and the Dean.
2. Planning and evaluation of IT services and infrastructure.  We will be developing expectations with regard to the types and quality of IT services supplied to the faculty.
3. Communication with faculty.  We are using several new methods to communicate with the faculty we represent, including this webpage.

The committee meets monthly.  Committee membership is composed of faculty-elected and dean-appointed members, as well as invited non-voting members who fill an advisory role.
