February is Black History Month - a time in which to learn, honor and pay tribute to the achievements of African-American and black men and women throughout history.  Video vignettes and accompanying articles on InfoScope will be posted throughout Black History Month to highlight the contributions of our African-Americans and black faculty and staff as well as Medical College programs that improve the health and health care of underserved populations - including African Americans and blacks.  Banners also have been placed around campus to honor African-American and black members of the Medical College of Wisconsin team.

The video vignettes posted online during Black History Month are part of a larger and longer-term campus wide Oral History Project to collect firsthand accounts of past and present faculty, staff and students concerning their personal histories, respective Medical College accomplishments, thoughts on the College's progress, growth and challenges - and much more.  In this manner we hope to create a rich historical record of the ideas, actions and observations of our interviewees for the benefit of current scholars and future generations alike who may be interested in the activities surrounding our missions.
